Participants on the day were selected due to lack of engagement in PE in the hope alternative activities would spark more of an interest in the subject. Ben came into St Joseph’s during our Sports Week and he delivered a fantastic ‘Around the World in Sporty Ways’ experience day for all our pupils.
Beginning with an inspiring whole school assembly around the theme of resilience, he then worked with KS1 classes to perform the Haka and KS2 classes to understand the skills in American Football.
All the sessions were hugely engaging and interactive and tailored to the needs of the school.

Ben worked with us as a department across a 2 terms of the academic year. Initially meeting during a bit of bumpy time within staffing and delivery. Ben allocated set time to provide support and strength to the department, observing lessons in action and having discussions with staff. He spent time to unpick the barriers within classes and work with us to find a new direction and improve.
Ben was very supportive and was working with us to build on what we already had in place as a department. Ben was also able to provide expertise in restructuring the focus of our PE lessons, to fully increase participation of all classes. We had a real mixture of classes and ability and that with engagement, Ben worked with us to implement the Sports Education model, using as the main factor for participation in lessons but also creating roles and responsibilities for those who were maybe disengaged in classes and did not want tot take part. Ben supported with lesson observations and mentoring all through this process and was able to strengthen and build on core features to really pull us together and refocus us as a team.
Along side all of this Ben supported us with great CPD ideas to develop staff and as result allow staff to embed new skills into lessons also. I would 100% recommend getting in touch and reaching out for support, even just to have an informal chat to bounce ideas and get feedback.
